DESCRIPTION:Earth Quaker Action Team\n\nSTOP\nMOUNTAINTOP REMOVAL\nCOAL MINING\n\nMonday\, April 21st Judy Winters joins EQAT’s\nMove Your Money initiative \nto close her PNC account\nto tell PNC\nto put their money where their mouth is and\ncontact Judy Winters for more information about how to participate and the trainings: jcwint22[at]comcast.net.\n\n\nThis is the letter from Judy: \nBelow is a flyer you may send along to any interested parties. The Monday\, April 21 action will take place in Newark at the Newark Shopping Center Branch. There is ample free parking at the bank site.There will be two training dates.I suggest you try to make the one on the 17th\, but you will do just fine if you can only make the one on the 21st. The one on April 17 at 5:00 is at my house [contact Judy for her information]. The other will be April 21 at 11:00 AM at the Santa Fe Mexican Bar and Grill at 190 E Main St. That location is 1 block away from the parking lot shown. After that training of about 1 hour\, we will walk over to the branch site where I will withdraw my remaining funds and you will exert your freedom of speech in law abiding ways we trained for. I hope to engage other Quakers and friends of Friends in this action. At this time there is only one person in DE who is a member of EQAT and that is me! Do join me and my fellow Philadelphia-based EQAT FRIENDS for this protest of MTR which PNC Bank funds. So on this Earth Day coming up\, I ask: How Green are you\, PNC?\n\nFACTS:\n\nPNC says it is concerned for the environment yet is one of the top companies financing of mountaintop removal coal mining.\nPNC says it cares about communities yet cuts the tops off mountains and poisons local water sources of those who live nearby.\nPNC says it wants children to grow up great while contributing to higher rates of asthma and poorer success in school.\n\n\nJudy joins a growing number of individuals and institutions who have collectively removed $3\,392\,407.04 from PNC Bank.\n\nTake action with EQAT and end mountaintop removal coal mining.\nEarth Quaker Action Team meets the first Tuesday of every month at Friends Center\, 1501 Cherry St\, Phila.\, PA.

DESCRIPTION:The Social Justice Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Newark & Newark Friends Meeting \nare Co-Sponsoring a FREE Showing of \n Robert Bilheimer’s 2012 documentary film on Human Trafficking \nNot My Life \nwhich is the first film to depict the cruel and dehumanizing practices of human trafficking and modern slavery on a global scale\, including the U.S.  In the 80-minute documentary\, narrated by Glenn Close and filmed on five continents\, director Robert Bilheimer examines human trafficking in its different forms: forced labor\, domestic servitude\, begging\, sex tourism & sex trade\, and child soldiering. \non \nMonday\, April 21\, at 7 pm \nIn Main Hall at the U.U.F.N \n420 Willa Road\, Newark\, DE 19711 \nAccording to Bilheimer\, “Human traffickers are earning billions of dollars on the backs\, and in the beds\, of our children\, and yet no one knows this is happening.”  We have a huge responsibility\, right now\, to learn the truth\, and act on it. \nChallenging though it may be\, Not My Life‘s message is ultimately one of hope.  Victims of slavery can be set free and go on to live extraordinary lives.  Those who advocate for them are growing in numbers\, and increasingly effective.  At this crossroad for the defining human rights issue of our time\, Not My Life tells us that the choice between good and evil is\, quite simply\, ours. \nTo learn more about the film\, go to www.notmylife.org \nThis showing is free and open to the public.  For more information\, call 302-368-4813.
