DESCRIPTION:this email is for Friends subscribed to Young Adult Friends Program or YAF Mentorship Project updates  \n \n\nIntergenerational Spiritual Formation Program \n\nSeptember 2014 – April 2015\nOpening Retreat Saturday\, Sept. 27 at Abington Friends Meeting\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDear Friends\,On Saturday\, September 27th\, we’re having a day-long retreat to kickoff a new Intergenerational Spiritual Formation cohort! Join young adults and other Friends from across the PYM region for this seven month program that creates a safe\, intimate corporate community and supports participants in deepening their spiritual lives.\nProgram \nParticipants are supported in developing daily practices that fulfill their intention with regards to the Divine\, practicing prayer\, discerning spiritual gifts and ministry\, and learning the art of spiritual nurture. \nThe components of the program include three one-day retreats\, monthly spiritual friendship groups\, monthly reading & discussion groups\, and the development of personal spiritual disciplines. \nFull participation in the entire program is important to all the individuals and to the community\, and works to guarantee a rich and exciting program for everyone! \nRetreats  \nParticipants are together as a whole group three times during the program for day-long retreats.  During this time\, we begin to build a community that will nurture our individual and corporate spiritual growth.  We create a space in which we can tell the story of our spiritual journey to each other\, and listen tenderly to one another.          \n \n Spiritual Friendship Groups \nSome Friends consider the heart of the program to be the monthly spiritual friendship groups\, where participants can relate their on-going experience of daily spiritual practice and share how the Eternal is breaking in on their lives. These groups build community and trust with others in our Meetings and beyond and are a laboratory for becoming more deeply grounded Quakers and human beings.  \n  \nMore about the components of the program – including the reading groups – can be found on the Intergenerational Spiritual Formation Program webpage!\nWondering what the Spiritual Formation Program was like for a young adult?  Read about Pamela Draper’s experience of it on the Young Adult Friends blog!   \n       \nThe Details \n\nSeptember 27th – Opening Retreat at Abington Friends Meeting\nJanuary 17th – Mid-Year Retreat at Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting\nApril 18th – Closing Retreat at Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting\nFriends age ~16 -106 are welcome to join the program!\nCost: $50 for 3 day-long retreats\, plus books (many meetings have copies of the books on the reading list.)
