DESCRIPTION:— This Event Will Not Be Held On 1/25 — But Will Be Rescheduled — Stay Tuned for the New Date —\n  \nThe Religious Education Committee of Kennett Friends Meeting will be hosting a 2-hour workshop on child sexual abuse prevention. Attendance is free\, but seats are limited\, so please register by contacting Robin Harper: rdmcharper@yahoo.com or via this RSVP link: RSVP HERE \nStewards of Children is a 2-hour\, evidence-informed training program that teaches adults how to prevent\, recognize\, and react responsibly to\n child sexual abuse. Developed by the Darkness to Light organization\, and sponsored locally through the YMCA\, the program is designed for parents\, youth serving organizations\, and other concerned individuals. It features: \n• A 2-part DVD presentation integrating commentary from sexual abuse survivors\, experts in the field\, and\n other concerned adults\, all providing practical guidance for preventing and responding to child sexual abuse\n • An interactive workbook designed to facilitate discussion\, reinforce key concepts\, and serve as a resource\n guide and personal action plan for protecting children\n • Interactive discussion about important issues in sexual abuse prevention and how they affect communities\n and youth serving organizations \nThis program aims to: \n• Increase awareness of the prevalence\, consequences\, and circumstances of child sexual abuse\n • Teach skills to help adults prevent\, recognize\, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse\n • Lead to positive change to organizational policies and procedures \nThere will be a pot-luck lunch before the presentation — all are welcome to participate.
