DESCRIPTION:Truth & Transformation Thread Gathering  \n Saturday\, February 27\, 2021\, 9:00am – 3:00pm\, VIRTUAL \nThe Ministry & Care Committee of Quaker Life Council will explore a Truth & Transformation process which has the goal of creating a space within PYM for individuals to be heard concerning experiences of oppression including incidents of racism that may have left unhealed hurts and wounds. \nTruth & Transformation will hold a space for the holy spirit to gather Friends as they share their stories\, one which supports them in their expectation of being heard and gathered as a spiritual body. \nTruth & Transformation will also focus on the future and anticipate an ongoing need to deal with fresh incidents as they arise. For this reason\, the process is also about building and maintaining capacity for Truth & Transformation for as long as hurts from oppression are being experienced. \nThe ongoing work of Truth & Transformation will be an iterative process:  one that steadily deepens our understanding of how to increase capacity for this healing work as we learn from and are transformed by the work as it unfolds.  This capacity will inform Friends to respond lovingly and compassionately to incidents of racial wounding as guided by Spirit. It will prepare us to listen to the truths of Friends who feel wounded by other “-isms” such as sexism\, classism\, ageism\, homophobia and transphobia.  While these wounds are not identical\, the Truth & Transformation process recognizes the need for Friends who have suffered to be heard\, a human need that transcends any particular wounding. \nRegister here.
