DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Friends Historical Association’s Annual Spring Event!\nSunday\, May 3 2026 1:00pm \nStenton\, the Logan Family Home\n4601 North 18th Street\, Philadelphia PA 19140 \nClick here to register! \nWe invite you to join us on Sunday\, May 3\, 2026\, at 1:00 PM for our annual spring event! This year\, we will enjoy a guided tour of Stenton\, the Logan Family Home in Philadelphia\, PA. \nParticipants are also welcome to meet for worship at 10:30 AM beforehand\, location TBA. (Please note your interest on the registration form or respond to this email!) \nTo sign up for the 2026 Spring Event\, please register as soon as possible. \n \nFor our spring tour this year\, FHA has arranged a visit to Stenton\, the Logan family home which was completed by James Logan\, William Penn’s secretary\, in 1730. In addition to touring the house\, we will also have a chance to hear from their curator\, Laura Keim\, about Stenton’s ongoing research initiative\, “Wrestling with Justice: Quakers and Northern Slavery.” A transformative Pew-Funded project\, “Wrestling with Justice” reinterprets the site by challenging the misconceptions that slavery existed solely in the American South and that Quakers were universally abolitionists. At Stenton\, the Logan family enslaved\, indentured\, and manumitted people. This exhibit encourages visitors to reflect on the complex history of Quakers and slavery\, and the legacies of this history in the present day. \nParking is available on the Stenton property\, but they are also convenient to SEPTA public transit. If you need a ride or have room in your car\, please indicate that upon registration and we will try to coordinate carpools. Please see their site for directions and additional information\, https://www.stenton.org/visit. \nStenton also invites anyone who wishes to bring a bag lunch to eat on the premises before the scheduled tour at 1:00 PM.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW
