Dining for Women celebrates the power of the individual to see an injustice and act to change it; to see need and act to fill it. Dining for Women’s members are deeply involved in the programs we support and the problems we seek to address. SUMMARY:Worship at Old Kennett Friends
DESCRIPTION:Come worship in this 1710 Meeting House. \nBuilt on Lenape land\, and deeded to Quaker farming families by William Penn. \nIn its early days Friends from what we know as Old Kennett gathered with Friends from New Castle\, New Ark (now Newark)\, Hockessin and Centre Meetings for business meetings. For a while\, it was even known as Newark Meeting. \nThe first shots of the Battle of the Brandywine during the American Revolution were fired in the Meeting’s burying ground. \nOver the years Friends from Old Kennett started Kennett Monthly Meeting in the borough of Kennett Square and Parkersville Monthly Meeting.
