SUMMARY:FGC General Secretary Frank Barch
DESCRIPTION:January 19 3:30-5:00pm at Birmingham Friends Meeting\nHello Friend.  This is Frank Barch\, Presiding Clerk of Friends General Conference and I’m offering you an invitation on behalf of FGC. FGC means a lot to me and my family\, and I’d like to help Friends get to know more about what the organization has to offer. We now have an opportunity to not only learn about what FGC does for Friends today\, but also to learn about the exciting plans FGC has to strengthen its programming.\nFGC is in the preliminary phase of considering a major fund-raising campaign to bolster its endowment\, invest in programming\, and dramatically increase our long-term sustainability.\nI’m not now asking for a gift\, rather I am reaching out to ask for your help in seasoning these plans.\nWe are organizing a series of informational meetings across the country to share the proposed vision for what an expanded FGC could accomplish.  These gatherings are purely informational in nature. I am hosting one of these gatherings at the Birmingham Meetinghouse in Chester County on January 19thfrom 3:30 to 5pm. I would love to have you join us so we could hear your response to this vision. Barry Crossno\, FGC General Secretary\, will be here to present the proposed plans. We will be offering light refreshments.\nI invite you to attend this meeting which is important for Friends General Conference. Will you be able to attend? Please let me know. I’d be happy to have a phone conversation with you if you have questions.\nThank you very much\,\nFrank\nFrank Barch\, FGCclerk@gmail.com 540-421-2525

SUMMARY:PYM Middle School Friends
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to see you all for our Winter Gathering January 31-February 2! The weekend will include small group worship sharing\, lots of laughter\, group games\, and new friendships as we build our MSF community. \nThe Winter Gathering workshop with Tara Rubinstein will build on earlier discussions at Annual Sessions 2019 and the MSF Fall Gathering. We’ll revisit the model of the gender and sexuality spectrum through games\, reflection\, and crafts. Queries we will explore together include: What is sexual orientation? How do you figure this out for yourself? How do you support your Friends as they figure it out?  \nOur workshop facilitator is Tara Rubinstein of Red Seeds (and former MSF coordinator!). Tara Rubinstein is a writer\, educator and mother. She has created and/or supervised programs for adolescents that support LGBTQ identity\, drag performance; spirituality\, anti-racism\, mythology and magic\, community building\, sexual wellness and body positivity. Her current youth programs include The Diana Circle – a feminist rites of passage group for girls ages 8-13\, and Brother Sun – a positive masculinity program for boys ages 8-10. \nFor more and to register\, click here\nDon’t forget the Middle School Friends Medical/Permission Forms if you have not yet submitted!
