SUMMARY:Ready for One Hundred Campaign - POSTPONED
DESCRIPTION:In a desire to be cautious\, the organizers of this event have decided to reschedule for later in the Spring.\nIn January of 2016\, the Sierra Club launched a nation-wide campaign called Ready for 100. The goal of the Ready for 100 campaign is to accelerate an equitable transition to 100% renewable energy by advocating for ambitious leadership at the local level.\nWe now know that it is both technologically and economically feasible to make the transition to 100% renewable energy. Professor Mark Jacobson\, from Stanford University\, has published research focused on the feasibility of this transition. What we’re missing is political will– and that’s why this campaign is so important.\nNation-wide\, grassroots movements are influencing cities\, regions\, and states to commit to 100% of their energy coming from renewable sources for all three sectors by 2050 and for the electric grid by 2030.\nThere are already many cities in the U.S. that have committed to 100% renewable energy. The Sierra Club released a report highlighting ten cities that have already made the transition to 100% renewable energy\, and how they accomplished it.\nThe goals for this gathering are to:\n\n\nshare recent progress made on clean energy in other parts of the county\n\n\ndescribe exciting possibility of working at the local government and school district level\n\n\nhighlight the benefits of moving to clean energy\n\n\nhighlight why we are an important part of the solution living in PA\n\n\ninspire local people to organize an effort in their community to support a clean energy resolution

SUMMARY:Zoom Call for Monthly Meeting Clerks and Quarter Clerks and Coordinators
DESCRIPTION:This moment in time is a stark example of why we have a yearly meeting.  None of us have had to figure out how to care for our meeting and Friends during an epidemic before. But none of us are alone in figuring it out.  There are 104 meetings and 10\,000 people here deepening and nurturing the experience of Spirit together. \nThe point is to bring our extended network of Friends together so we can share our skills and gifts as well as our questions and concerns. \nAs a clerk\, you are invited to participate in a video call on the next three Tuesday evenings.  Rather than presenting you with an agenda\, I am inviting you submit agenda topics when you RSVP.  In this way we can be sure that the conversation is the one you want to be having. \nThe meetings will be on Tuesday\, March 17\, 24\, and 31 at 7:00.  After the second meeting we’ll evaluate whether it will be helpful to continue past the 24th.  If we do continue past the 24th\, we will change to Thursday evenings to include Friends who aren’t able to participate on Tuesdays. \nTo participate\, click on the link or call the phone number below and enter the Meeting ID. The same information is valid for each Tuesday. Please  register to let us know you are coming. \nPlease feel free to join the call\, even if you are not registered! \n\nVideo:  https://zoom.us/j/596211717\nPhone:   (929) 436-2866\nMeeting ID: 596 211 717\n\nFor the March 17\, 2020 notes and more on Zoom\, go to the event listing at www.pym.org/calendar here
