SUMMARY:Meeting for Worship at Parkersville Meetinghouse
DESCRIPTION:September 17 at 2:00pm\n1232 Parkerville Road\, Kennett Square\nJust south of Rte. 926\n\nFriends built this meetinghouse in 1830.  Parkersville Meeting was established by and for Orthodox Friends of Kennett Friends Meeting in the late 1820s. In 1827 a schism in Quakerism resulted in two main groups: Orthodox and Hicksite. Both groups worshippped at different times at Kennett Friends Meetinghouse until Orthodox Friends bought land in Parkersville and took up a subscription to built themselves a meetinghouse. There is a burial ground on the property with a number of important families in Chester County’s early history. Tour the meetinghouse and grounds before or after meeting for worship.
