Neighbors in Action is an intergenerational program designed by the Kennett Area Senior Center in partnership with the Chester County Department of Aging Services to address the needs of elderly residents as well as people of any age. They need a little assistance with a variety of issues that is affordable and readily available. Neighbors in Action, an on call service available Monday through Friday, provides volunteers to address the needs of this population. NIA helps with transportation to medical and other appointments; grocery shopping and trips to stores; light housekeeping; minor home repairs and maintenance; yard work; meal preparation; reading or writing; companionship; telephone reassurance & assistance with forms and services.
NIA would appreciate the opportunity to present the Neighbors in Action initiative to the Western Quarterly Meeting Monthly Meetings in any appropriate forum, to let them be aware of how we assist neighbors in the greater community. NIA is seeking members, volunteers and vendors to help us with our mission. Your help to have an audience with this group will be most appreciated.
