SUMMARY:Inter-Faith Speakers' Series at West Grove
DESCRIPTION:West Grove Friends Meeting is very pleased to be hosting a second inter-faith speakers’ series. There will be a practitioner of a different faith tradition to present on each of four consecutive Wednesday evenings in April. All sessions will run from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be time for dialogue with the speakers during and after their presentations. The inter-faith series is free and open to all who desire to learn more about other faith traditions. This series will include the following presentations: \n4/8: Quakerism\n                  -Jada Jackson\, Clerk\, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting\n \n4/15: Native American Tradition\n                  -Shelley DePaul\, Asst. Chief of the Lenape Nation\n \n4/22: The Fourth Way\n                  -Jim Hammerman and Richard Beck\n \n4/29: Anabaptist & Pietist Traditions\n                  -Edsel Burdge Jr.\, Research Assoc.\, Young Center for Anabaptist and Pietist Studies\, Elizabethtown College\n \nWest Grove Friends Meeting is of the Quaker tradition and is a welcoming community to Seekers in all faiths. SUMMARY:Meetings Converge for Quarterly Meeting\, April 19
DESCRIPTION:Today is our opportunity to Gather as Friends\, who even in our differences seek the same Spirit. The topic for this gathering is:  \nLiving into Friends’ Testimonies — how a small group of Quakers made a big difference recently\, and how we can do the same. \nWest Grove MM invites Friends from throughout the Quarter to join them for Worship at 10 am\, followed by a discussion on Living our Friends’ Testimonies\, led by Gail Newbold. Gail is one of the founders of EQAT (Earth Quaker Action Team)\, a small group of Friends who felt led to respond to uphold the testimony on stewardship of the environment\, and channeled their leading through social activism that has produced real results. We gather to celebrate this success\, as well as learn ways – small and large – we can also “walk the walk”\, living our testimonies as Friends.   \nA simple meal of soup will be provided\, but Friends are invited (and encouraged!) to bring a side or dessert to share. \nThe Children’s Program will begin with Worship and end when lunch is served. \nMeeting for Worship with attention to Western Quarter’s business will follow lunch\, at 1 pm. \nSchedule:\n9:30 am     Coffee & tea \n10 am         Meeting for Worship — Children’s program starts\n11 am         Discussion\n12:15          Lunch (children join their families)\n1 pm          Meeting for Business  — see Agenda here  Draft minutes from last meeting here\n \nClick here for pdf of event flyer
