At Least For Now
The Youth Activities Committee of Western Quarter has decided to discontinue Quaker Fun Days until new leadership emerges for the day camp program that until recently was held during a few days each summer at London Grove Meetinghouse. Through the years when the program was operating, many children in the Quarter enjoyed the Quaker -centered activities and looked forward to connecting with other Friends in the comfortable camp atmosphere. “It was fun!” is how many would sum it up.
Quaker Fun Days did not take place during 2012 due to a shortage of adults to plan and lead the event. Because the subcommittee that fills this role currently is vacant, the Youth Activities Committee decided officially to lay down the program. If interested volunteers come forward, the committee would love to see this valuable ministry start again.
