Hello,
Planning for the Young Friends Spring Gathering on Service is coming along splendidly. Thanks for all the early registrations! If you haven’t had the opportunity to register yet, keep reading! You’ll find the links for more information and registration, as well as breaking news (the Pilot Shuttle Program!) and several upcoming opportunities (like the Quaker College Fair and summer trips) of interest to the Young Friends community.

Pilot Shuttle Program
PYM Youth Programs is piloting a new shuttle program to help families get their young people to gatherings. Read the news story and check out the webpage for more information!
Quaker College Fair
The Quaker College Fair is taking place May 17th from 12pm to 3pm at Arch Street Meeting House. The Quaker College Fair invites high schoolers and their families to find out about the many benefits of a Friends’ higher education. This event will give you access to experts on the application process, gap years, housing and financial aid, with fourteen historically Quaker institutions in attendance – all in only three hours! Check out more information and get registered!

Friends Committee for National Legislation Spring Lobby Weekend 2014 

FCNL is hosting their Spring Lobby Weekend, “Endless War & Killer Robots: Not Viable Foreign Policy” on March 22nd through 25th. Join youth from across the country in a weekend of advocacy to stop the endless wars and unchecked military intervention. Check out more information and get registered!

Youth Programs Internship 
Interested in working with younger PYM programs, or know a young adult you want to get involved as a FAP for Young Friends? Check out the Youth Programs Internship, wherein interns are placed with the Children’s, Middle School Friends, or Young Friends program as a regular FAP and receive $500 towards their participation in Quaker events or educational experiences. Mexico Environmental Service and Leadership Trip with Westtown
Westtown School is offering its annual environmental service leadership program in Mexico during the summer of 2014 and still has some openings! In recent years, this trip has generated a rich exchange of ideas among students from Sidwell, Wilmington, Westtown and Oakwood Friends Schools, Haverford, Guilford and Dickinson colleges – and others! The experience has led many students to discover a new and enduring sense of calling. Check out the application and download a flyer to share!
