2018 Christmas Events in Western Quarter

Centre Friends Meeting

Christmas Eve music program, Dec. 24, 6:30 p.m.
Music will start at 6:30 Christmas Eve, followed by Meeting for Worship
Refreshments of Hot cider and cookies to follow.

Hockessin Friends Meeting

December 1 (Saturday): FDS Cookie Baking, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

December 9 (Sunday): Greens-making, 9:00-10:30 a.m.  A Friendly Carol Sing followed by refreshments, 2:00-3:30 p.m. This is a Meeting community and neighbors event.

December 24 (Monday): Christmas Eve Gathering, 7:00 p.m. Meeting for worship by candlelight in front of the fireplace with music and readings followed by refreshments. Bring your visiting family and friends!

Kennett Friends Meeting

December 16 (Sunday): Christmas covered dish breakfast, 9:30 a.m. Followed by a brief Christmas program and Meeting for Worship (11 am).

December 21 (Friday): Live Nativity and Vigil in solidarity with immigrants and asylum seekers – located at UM Church of the Open Door (210 S Broad St). Live nativity starts at 6 pm, vigil begins at 7:30 pm. Refreshments will be served. Donations to Kennett Meeting’s Friends Fund for Immigrant Support will be accepted at this event.

December 23 (Sunday): Sing for Joy (9:30 a.m.) and Worship (11 a.m.)

December 24 (Monday): candlelight Worship (7 pm)

Mill Creek Meeting

Seeking peace and quiet? Join Friends at Mill Creek Meeting for a very small and quiet candlelight Meeting for Worship on Christmas Eve at 6:30 pm, followed by simple refreshments 7-7:30 pm.

Newark Friends Meeting

December 24,  9:30 am – Christmas Breakfast and Sing. Simple potluck family style breakfast, followed by a short period of singing and an abbreviated meeting for worship.
