All-Day Anniversary Celebration at London Grove

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, London Grove Monthly Meeting!

On Saturday, October 18, 2014, London Grove Friends Meeting will celebrate its 300^th year as a Monthly Meeting in the Western Quarter of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting.  The anniversary celebration includes events all afternoon Sat. Oct. 18^th.

Schedule of Events:

1 p.m.         Charlie Brosius  – Graveyard tours

1:30 p.m.  Birthday Cake – Happy Birthday to London Grove!!

2 p.m.         Speaker: Christopher Densmore

London Grove Quakers and their Peace Testimony in the American Revolution

3 p.m.         Charlie Brosius – Graveyard tours

4 p.m.         Speaker: Christopher Densmore

London Grove Quakers Confront Slavery

Ongoing activities:

• Continuous slide show running – the Faces of London Grove
• Quaker videos:

o   A Sense of Place

o   Quakers: That of God in Everyone

• Exhibits in the Meeting House – Quaker wedding certificates old and new, Quaker dress from years gone by, photographs, plant sale posters, and other historic memorabilia
• Meeting House tours
• Antique cars
• Children’s activities & scavenger hunts

 All above activities are free and open to the public.  This event will be held rain or shine.
