May 10, 2014 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

Junior Interim Meeting

“The Children of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting are called to make the world a better place by finding fun ways to care for specific environments so that creatures living there can be healthy.”
Children’s Priority, 2013-2015

Junior Interim Meeting is an opportunity for Philadelphia Yearly Meeting’s children to take part in God’s Big Idea for them.

Junior Interim Meeting builds on the Children’s Priority, a calling that the children of PYM hear as a group, and address with Quaker business methods.

Join an amazing group of kids doing their work and having a great time.

This year, Junior Interim Meeting will be visiting Historic Fair Hill in North Philadelphia. Fair Hill Burial Ground is a 300-year old Quaker burial ground, a site on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a beautiful, fenced, and well maintained 4.5-acres at 2900 Germantown Ave. in North Philadelphia. Work and investment from Friends restored the historic site from desolation in the 1990’s to its state of peaceful beauty today.

The Historic Fair Hill program has expanded with new HFH Youth group, six community gardens, Saturday farm stand, gardener, and volunteer gardeners.  Learn more about the work this year.

Also:
Middle School Friends are needed to practice leadership as Junior Friendly Presences.
Young Friends (High School) and adults of all ages play a crucial role as volunteer Friendly Adult Presences.
