2014 William Penn Lecture
with
Christina Repoley
March 29, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Arch Street Meetinghouse
Dear Friend,
The William Penn Lecture series is a Philadelphia Yearly Meeting tradition. The lecture is an opportunity for Friends to come together for fellowship and to strengthen our capacity for effective work in the Religious Society of Friends. The Lecture began as an initiative of young adult Friends in 1916 and included such persons as Rufus Jones, Douglas Steere, Thomas Kelly and Bayard Rustin. In this century’s renewal of the tradition under the care of the Young Adult Friends Working Group, George Lakey, Signe Wilkinson, and Michael Gagné have spoken. I’m pleased to share that this year’s speaker will be Christina Repoley, Executive Director of the Quaker Voluntary Service. I hope you will join us this year when Christina shares her thoughts on the topic of:
Prophetic Service
as
Formation and Transformation
Christina Repoley is the founding Executive Director of the Quaker Voluntary Service. From the beginning of her career she has worked in faith-based organizations supporting volunteers on issues of social justice.
