100 Years of Votes for Women – Carrie Chapman Catt, Quaker suffragist

October 3, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote, Merion Friends Meeting will host a virtual Zoom presentation with the famous American and Quaker suffragist, Carrie Chapman Catt. As portrayed by reenactor Pat Jordan, Carrie will come to life and tell of her youth, education, marriages, suffrage work and, as Susan B. Anthony’s hand-picked successor, the strategic leadership skills that have been credited with securing passage of the 19th amendment in 1920. Join us on-line at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 3rd for a live presentation of the highlights of her life story and the 72-year odyssey to win the vote for American women.
