Seeking Healing with Native American Peoples

Program in “Quakers and Indigenous Peoples: Exploring Relationships” series.

Following earlier sharing of lessons on indigenous peoples, our final lesson will focus on healing. We will seek to broaden our knowledge of the past and present relationships, consider Quaker and other’s efforts to right past wrongs, and explore Quaker action today on behalf of Native Americans.  Mini topics within this framework include colonizing and decolonizing, the Doctrine of Discovery and minutes repudiating the doctrine, as well as Friends Committee on National Legislation’s (FCNL) Native American Congressional Advocate Program.
