Come worship in this 1710 Meeting House.
Built on Lenape land, and deeded to Quaker farming families by William Penn.
In its early days Friends from what we know as Old Kennett gathered with Friends from New Castle, New Ark (now Newark), Hockessin and Centre Meetings for business meetings. For a while, it was even known as Newark Meeting.
The first shots of the Battle of the Brandywine during the American Revolution were fired in the Meeting’s burying ground.
Over the years Friends from Old Kennett started Kennett Monthly Meeting in the borough of Kennett Square and Parkersville Monthly Meeting.
