FALLOWFIELD MEETING and FALLOWFIELD ORTHODOX BURIAL GROUND
Fallowfield offers a vital community with a profound sense of history that enlivens its spiritual formation and worship. The present brick meeting house, built in 1801, replaced a log structure that was built in 1794. Set in the village of Ercildoun, the Fallowfield Monthly Meeting continues to build upon a rich legacy of sincerely seeking the Light Within and concern for the betterment of the human condition. From its early days of anti-slavery advocacy, standing for temperance, and patronage of education, the Meeting now advocates for survivors of modern day slavery, in the form of human trafficking, and helping to feed those in need, through regular food donations. Rebecca Lukens and Dr. Charlotte Moore Sitterly are buried in the Orthodox Burial Ground.
