Welcome back from Winter break!
We’re looking forward to the next Middle School Friends Gathering, which is happening in JUST TWO WEEKS! WOO!
We’ll be celebrating the winter weather with a trip to an ice skating rink on Saturday Evening, and we’ll use the rest of our time to dive into the subject of equality. What does it mean to be equal? How can we all be equal when we all have different bodies, and different abilities, and when some of us are Middle schoolers and some are adults? We’ll also get outside and play some games, aiming for the equal score of fun-to-fun!
Sound exciting? Register early so that we can plan to make this the best gathering it can possibly be! I will send out a carpool list during the week before the gathering. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Can’t make it in January? We’ll hope to see you at our Simplicity Gathering March 14th-16th at Wicomico Friends Meeting in Salisbury, MD. There will be transportation from Philly available!

New Blog post: The great blizzard of 2013!
Last gathering we were snowed in and ended up staying an extra day! Read about it here. Seeking Drivers and Friendly Adult Presences for March Gathering:
This March we are going to our furthest location yet. We’ll be road tripping out to Wicomico Friends Meeting in Salisbury, MD for a gathering around the theme of simplicity. We will rent a giant van in Philadelphia, and drive as many people out as possible and if you’re feeling adventurous, we could use your help! Send me an email at middleschoolfriends@pym.org if you would be interested in driving out and/or serving as Friendly Adult Presence during that gathering. The Middle School Friends program has a Facebook page where we regularly post the latest updates about the program, as well as photos, and group discussion. Anyone who is a current or former Middle School Friend, parent, or Friendly Adult Presence may join. However, due to privacy concerns, this group requires approval to join.
