Teaching Conservation and Living in Beijing, China

Gregory Landrey (Director of Academic Affairs, Winterthur) and his wife, Lynne Landrey, will share their experience of living in Beijing for four months in 2014-15 while Gregory was teaching furniture conservation at the CRAFT training program at the Forbidden City in Beijing, China and working with the Palace Museum staff on the restoration of the Qianlong Garden. The presentation will include insight into conservation education in China, teaching in a changing yet traditional Chinese environment, and living in one of the world’s greatest cities.
