Introducing Quaker Institute for the Future!

Dear Friends,

Might the following announcement run from now into June in your faith community/ group’s weekly bulletins, newsletters, websites, social media, announcement sheets, and/ or elsewhere that seems appropriate to you? This is a wonderful opportunity for Philadelphia YM Friends to join with QIF in our own neighborhood! Thanks.
Quaker Institute for the Future comes to Philadelphia Yearly Meeting
Quaker Institute for the Future (QIF) explores the nexus of environmental sustainability, economics and Quaker values. We conduct research, offer a week-long seminar, and sponsor publications. Do you have an idea, a project, or a work-in-progress with a concern for a sustainable environment and a just economy? Please consider participating in our seminar, June 23-27 at Friends Center in Philadelphia (see our website for a full description of our seminars: www.quakerinstitute.org). Contact Shelley Tanenbaum at sheltan@pacbell.net for more information.
We also invite you to an evening presentation on both a Quaker-way of conducting research and the dichotomy between economic growth and ecological integrity. The evening will feature Gray Cox, co-clerk of QIF and Professor of Philosophy at College of the Atlantic, on a Quaker approach to research and Phil Emmi, QIF Board Member and Professor of Urban Planning at the University of Utah, on queries regarding an ecologically integrated economy. Please join us, whether or not you are participating in the seminar, on Wednesday, June 25 at 7:30 PM at Friends Center.
